A botanical garden by the sea: Jardí Botànic Blanes, Marimurtra
We discovered this beautiful garden by the sea last year, and we believe that the perfect timing for visiting is definitely during spring. Besides the weather being more nice, and not that hot, spring brings out the best of this beautiful place. Costa Brava: Cala s’Alguer
We probably agree on this: Summer is the best season to take the most of the sea (swimming, laying on the lilo and feeling the soft waves, kayaking to explore hidden caves, etc.). But how about visiting these hidden caves without the crowd laying on the sand and also with a more pleasant weather? This is why we thought that there is a nice hike by the sea which is worth it to do it during spring. We are talking about one of the most popular caves in Costa Brava, because it is definitely one the most “instagrammer”: Cala s’Alguer.
We suggest you to visit this beautiful spot during Spring, since it is a small space and it gets pretty crowded in Summer. And after a nice hike by the sea following the “camí de ronda”, the name for this path that follows by the sea, you can end up having a picnic there. Girona temps de flors
You can always visit Girona and be amazed, no matter the season. But we decided to include the city on this list for a reason… And that is that there is a really special event taking place one weekend in the spring which is worth attending: Girona temps de flors. The whole city gets dressed with flowers: the streets, squares, iconic places, historical places, etc. It is a really beautiful show that you can enjoy just by walking the streets of the city. It takes place generally during the second weekend of May, but double check when the date is approaching.
A beautiful valley in the spring: Vall de Núria
It is one of the most beautiful valleys during Spring: Vall de Núria. This season definitely brings out the best of this magical place, and if you love hiking spring is one of the best seasons to get to know this little paradise. We went there during winter because we wanted to experience the “cabin in the middle of the snowy mountains” feeling, but coming back to Vall de Núria to experience “spring” is also on our list of next day trips.
