Best hiking trails in Begur: the essential guide

One way to enjoy paradisiacal beaches and wild nature is through hiking trails in Begur! It is one of the most beautiful towns on the Costa Brava, with dreamy beaches like Aiguablava or Sa Tuna. So today we are sharing three Camins de Ronda routes in Begur to discover the most beautiful corners of this lovely coastal town.

As we explained in a previous article, the Camí de Ronda is a coastal path that runs along the entire Costa Brava. In Begur, these three routes stand out, which are also part of this famous coastal trail.

From Sa Riera to Illa Roja

Camí de Ronda North

Route: Sa Riera – Illa Roja – Platja del Racó – Illa Roja – Sa Riera

Estimated duration: 1h.

This route begins at Sa Riera Beach and it will take about 1 hour. From this coastal path, you’ll be able to admire Sa Riera from above, and as you continue along the path, you’ll come across a large rock, characteristic of the beach Illa Roja. And as the final stop, you’ll reach Platja del Racó.

From Platja Fonda to Aiguablava

Camí de Ronda South

Route: Platja Fonda – Fornells – Aiguablava – Fornells – Platja Fonda

Estimated duration: 2h.

This route starts at one of the most picturesque coves in Begur, Sa Tuna. Probably the most vibrant beach, with bars, restaurants and local shops. From there, the trail will take you to another beautiful beach, Aiguafreda.

Sa Tuna – Aiguafreda – Sa Tuna

Estimated duration: 45 minutes.

This route includes some of the most stunning beaches in Begur. Although it takes longer than the other routes, it is definitely worth it. Starting from Platja Fonda, you’ll be treated to beautiful views of turquoise waters. As you make your way, you’ll reach Fornells, which is located halfway and offers beautiful sights. Finally, you’ll encounter the intense blue waters of Aiguablava, as the name suggests.
