Beyond VO cinemas in Barcelona, the Filmoteca de Catalunya is the main institution in the city for cinema exhibitions. Located in the Raval neighborhood, the Filmoteca de Catalunya is responsible for preserving the film heritage and culture, with a special emphasis on Catalonia.
Also, they offer periodically film series which focus on specific national and international filmmakers and independent productions. Classic movies of all times are also included in the movie schedule of Filmoteca de Catalunya. And the best part: tickets are cheaper than in general movie theaters (and for some special sessions there is free entrance).
