Strolling the streets of Barcelona is one of our favorite things to do. But we also love to see the city from the heights: from the best viewpoints in Barcelona.
We made a list of some of them, including the most popular but also some spots that are less known:
Barcelona lookout by the sea: Mirador del Migdia
From the Montjuïc Castle you can get awesome views of the city (almost everyone knows that). And you can also enjoy those views on your way up to Montjuïc if you take the MontjuIc cable car.
But what if we say that you can get those views while enjoying a “vermut” surrounded by nature? Near the castle there is this lookout called “Mirador del Migdia”, which also has a bar “La Caseta del Migdia” where you can have drinks or even lunch at a spot that not everyone knows.
Views of Barcelona from a museum: Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC)
On the way up to Mirador del Migdia, you might want to stop by at another popular view among the best viewpoints in Barcelona: the one from the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. You get to see a picture of the city from the heights right at the entrance of this museum, and you can also sit down on the long bench outside to relax and just enjoy the beautiful views.
A lookout in Barcelona city center: CCCB Lookout
You don’t need to go too far from the city center to get the best views of Barcelona. Actually, you can get them right from the city center: at the CCCB lookout. During specific days throughout the year this space is open to the public. It is located on the 5th floor, called “Sala Mirador”.
Historical viewpoint in Barcelona: Búnkers del Carmel
This one has gotten pretty crowded lately, so we recommend you not to visit it during the weekend. Besides offering a 360º, this place holds a really important episode in the history of the country. Our recommendation: Read some articles before visiting, to get a deeper idea of the role this place played during the Spanish Civil War.
Viewpoint in Barcelona from an iconic park: Park Güell
You probably know this one, and have visited a couple of times already. But here is what we have to say: explore beyond the most popular viewpoints from this park. There are many secret spots in Park Güell that not everyone knows!
What do you think of our best viewpoints in Barcelona list? Which one is your favorite? Do you know any other viewpoints in Barcelona to include on this list? Let us know!
