Green spaces in Barcelona

Date:

What if we say that it is possible to find some green oases in the middle of the city? If you are in need of some nature connection within the city, take note of these beautiful green spaces in Barcelona.

A green esplanade: Parc de les Glòries

Among green spaces in Barcelona, Parc de les Glòries is the newest one. Actually, it is still under construction.. And probably the biggest since it occupies more than 20.000m2, a big green esplanade in the middle of the city which also has big slides and play areas for the children. Here we share a picture of how what we are trying to describe actually looks:

Parc de les Glòries address: Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes, 10.

Urban park: Parc de la Ciutadella

It is definitely one of the most popular green spaces in Barcelona. Not the most peaceful maybe, but it will do if all you need is just walk surrounded by some nature, Also, this park has a beautiful lake where you can even rent a boat and paddle for a bit (okay, that is included on the list of tourist things to do in Barcelona but, you know, it might be fun).

Parc de la Ciutadella address: Passeig de Picasso, 21.

Park Güell: an iconic green area

Sure you have been to this one (or at least visited the iconic spots). But did you know that Park Güell also hides some peaceful green spaces where to disconnect from the city crowd? You just have to walk the many paths this park offers to explore the many secret spots you haven’t been to yet.

The less known green area: Parc de Cervantes

We think that this one is one of the less famous green spaces in Barcelona, and to be honest, that’s quite unfair because Parc de Cervantes is a really beautiful green space in the city. On the bright side of being less popular: it doesn’t get as crowded as Parc de la Ciutadella.

Parc de Cervantes address: Avinguda Diagonal, 706.

A green area in the hills: Jardins de Joan Brossa

Located in Montjuïc, what we like the most of Jardins de Joan Brossa is the abundant vegetation that makes you forget for a while that you still are quite close to the city center (well, it actually has 5,2 hectares of forest!). Ideal also for the kids, since there are specific play areas adapted to them.

Jardins de Joan Brossa address: Plaça de Dante
