Aerobus Barcelona

The Aerobus is the most popular transportation from Barcelona airport to city center. People choose this option for several reasons: it stops right in the center of the city, it runs until past midnight, it stops every 5/10 minutes and its price is relatively not that expensive.

The single ticket of the Aerobus Barcelona is 6,75€ and the return ticket is 11,65€ (valid within 15 days). You have diverse options to buy it: in advance or right after you land in Barcelona.

The Aerobus Barcelona line from the airport gets you to the center of the city, offering diverse options depending on where your hotel is located:

Barcelona airport train (Renfe)

But in case that you are traveling to another cities near Barcelona, the Barcelona airport train (called Renfe) might be the right option. If you choose this Barcelona airport transportat option, you will get to the center of Barcelona in 25 minutes approximately depending on the station you choose to stop. These are: Barcelona Sants, Barcelona Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona El Clot Aragó or Barcelona Sant Andreu Comtal. It will cost you around 3€ (depending if you are traveling to Barcelona or to other villages a little far from the city).

Metro from the airport to Barcelona city center

If you prefer the metro to get to Barcelona from the airport, you have to take the line L9. If your hotel is in the city center is preferable to take the Aerobus, since it stops right in Plaça Catalunya. On the contrary, the metro L9 doesn’t stop near the center of the city. So you will have to transfer to other metro lines to get to your destination if that is in the center area.

The metro service in weekdays (Monday to Thursday) is available until midnight. During Fridays and eves of public holidays it runs until 2.00am. and on Saturdays the service is available all night. On Sundays and public holidays in weekdays the service is available until midnight.

The ticket price is different from the normal metro ticket prices, since it is applied a plus for leaving from the Barcelona Airport.
