Following with the “tapas land” content, we travel from the Northern Spain food to the Southern Spain food. And guess what… It is beyond delicious as well! And also, not too expensive. So if we focus on this region of Spain, we also have some featured traditional dishes depending on the cities within that Comunidad Autónoma, Andalucía.
Depending on the region, each of them actually has its typical “tapas”. And also, some delicious famous dishes. For instance:
Salmorejo in Córdoba
If you love gazpacho, you are probably going to love this other version: salmorejo. It is more of a cream in terms of texture, thicker than gazpacho because of the bread added, but both dishes share this main ingredient: tomato.
Espetos in Málaga
We clearly remember this from our trip to Southern Spain: our stop in Málaga to eat espetos in a chiringuito by the sea. Espetos are sardines which are cooked following this specific procedure: they are “espetadas” in thin and long rods, to be roasted with firewood right on the sand on the beach.
“Pescaíto” frito, tortilla de camarones or gazpacho
Among all tapas in the South of Spain, these might be some the most popularly known throughout the region. So make sure to try at least some of them ;-)
